Shopping Trip This Week

Okay, this week's ad didn't appeal to my family.  So, I didn't create a list and don't plan on shopping.  As you start out with couponing, you'll notice that sometimes, you will have a very good week and buy up the store, while other weeks, you don't see anything worth while.  Times like these are part of the experience and if you are able to recognize that there are things that your family doesn't need during a sale cycle, then you are becoming a wise shopper and to that I say "Congrats"!  

Being a good stewart and a skilled couponer, doesn't mean you go and buy any and everything just because it's cheap or on sale.  I especially enjoy weeks like these because it gives me a break from clipping and printing out coupons or list.  So, tomorrow instead of going shopping for groceries, I'll take my savings and take my kids out to dinner and buy a book.

Total for today...

My shopping trip wasn't too bad.  My total was $190.16 and I paid $36.75.  I got a few items that wasn't included in my list and I didn't have coupons for.  Things such as, bread, lunchables, extra bags of Boca, Ziplock bags, and those cage free eggs that are so cotton choppin' expensive.

Example of Stockpiling

Today's shopping trip is a good example of stockpiling.  Remember, most items go on sale in a cycle.  So, staple items, you want to always grab plenty of those because you don't want to find yourself grabbing only 1 or 2 and then paying full price when you run out.  If you notice that you have an abundance and a sale is coming back around on the same item, you can always donate it to family, friends, or charity. 

At Winn-Dixie, I stocked up on toothpaste, rice, and barbeque sauce.  I ran out of sauce a long time ago and refused to by any at full price.  I'm so thankful to have some for only .10 a bottle.  At my Winn-Dixie, they didn't have the KC Masterpeice sauce, so the manager allowed me to substitute it for whatever sauce I wanted.  This doesn't always happen, but when it does, yippee!! 

.25 cent Colgate Toothpaste

At Winn-Dixie this week, this toothpaste will be on sale for $.99.  Use the 75/1 from the 5/1 SS and get it for .24 each!!

Cheap Barbeque Sauce

This yummy sauce is included in the BOGO at Winn-Dixie this week!!!  Use (2) 1/1 coupon from the 5/15 SS and you'll pay only .10 each.  Yippee!!

Free Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

Starting tomorrow, at Winn-Dixie, they will have the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers on BOGO.  The 2-pk!!!  If you use the 1.50/1 from the 5/1 PG you can get them for free.  Remember to use (2) coupons because you're getting 2 packs. Doing so, will also give you a .40 money maker. 

Free Yellow Rice

At Winn-Dixie starting tomorrow, Mahatma Saffron Yellow rice will be included in the BOGO sale.  The cost for (2) is $1.00.  Use the .50/1 coupon from the 5/1 RP and grab as many as you want, for free!  But, don't forget to leave some behind for the other couponers!

5/12/11 Publix Shopping Trip

My shopping trip went really well.  They did take my Whole Foods coupons, but I'm still waiting for them to post their competitor list.  Over all, it was great.  I walked away with $94.20 worth of groceries for $12.88. 

Lots of Savings!

A special shot out to all the people who attended the trainings that I've done.  Today's training marked my 5th training and I'm doing another one next Thrusday night.  Everyone who has attended the training is so excited about the savings they have experienced.  That makes my heart smile. 

One particular couponer stated that her credit card bill was $2,000 less last month than the month previously. 

Couponing is a practial way to save money.  It doesn't have to be time consuming or a junk food fest.  Try to find a way that works for your family and start saving!

Well, I'm done completing my shopping list for this week.  It's a little light and I'm not sure if the new coupon policy will affect any of my items and savings.  I was told that they will post their competitor stores on the 23rd and as of now, they will accept all competitor coupons.  As such, I'm using some Whole Food coupons this week.  I'll let you know if I have any problems.  Also, I'm going to use one of the "get a $10 gift card when you spend $50 or more.

Homestyle Macaroni and Cheese

Full Publix Weekly Ad

Okay couponers, it's that time again!!  The full ad is up on I Heart Publix.  TrueCouponing doesn't have the ad yet, therefore, you're not able to create a list by clicking on the boxes.  But, feel free to browse the full ad in anticipation of a great week of savings!!

Pay special attention to the $10 off of $50 gas card when you spend $25 or more.  I'm going to grab a few of these and do 2 seperate transactions because both my husband and I need gas next week!!

Cheap Chips!!

In today's paper, the "Moments to Save" insert, there is a 1/1 Tostitos chips .  At Publix they are included in the BOGO. So, if you use (2) of them, it will make each bag $1.50.    That's a Huge savings for the family sized bag.  Normally, each bag sells for 4.99!!  They make for great haystack meals or just for snacking!

Coupons to save for later.....

There are always coupons in the paper that you think, oh I can use these NOW.  But, my rule of thumb is to save certain coupons for a later deal that I know is coming up.  Here are a few of the coupons that I'll hold on to, for extra savings later.


Welch's Juice 1/1 (SS 5/1)-This juice will go on BOGO soon, juice is 3.99 at Publix.  Using this coupon will make them $1 per bottle.  This is my stock up price. 

There are a lot of pet items coupons this week too.  I'll save these to match with the current Publix pet items coupon book.  Stacking these coupons will make for a lot of free pet care products.  If you're in Publix, pick up a few of these books for yourself AND your buddy! 

75/1 Colgate Toothpaste (SS 5/1)-This toothpaste goes on sale often.

As a matter of fact, they are usually on sale for $1.  Since this coupon says "Any Colgate" you're able to use this coupon.  So, you should be able to stock up on toothpaste for .25.

2/1 (PG 5/1) Tampax Pearl tampons.  When these go on BOGO, they will make a great deal!
Also in the Protor and Gamble insert are a lot of BOGO on men's bodywash.  Save these, they will make for FREE body wash at either Publix, Walgreens, or CVS soon!

3/1 Purex (RP 5/1).  Purex goes on sale very often.  So, using this coupon with the BOGO sale, will alllow you to stock up. 

BOGO on either Right Guard or Dry Idea products (RP 5/1).  Dry Idea and Right Guard products goes on BOGO at CVS and Walgreens often.  That's a good time to stock up on this stuff.

1/1 Emerald Breakfast on the Go.  (RP 5/1).  This will make for a cheap healthy snack when it goes BOGO at Publix!!

These are just a few things I came across by glancing through the paper.  This is the time when I will kick it into high gear.  I don't work during the summer and need to stock up, since we will be down to one pay check, I get into my squirrel mode.
