New Publix Coupon Policy!!

So, the word on the street is that Publix is changing thier coupon policy.  Currently,  I am able to save 70-100% using the wonderful policy they have in place now and am NOT looking forward to a change.  Right now, they accept competitor coupons (Winn Dixie, Sweetbay, Save-A-Lot, Albertson's, Whole Foods, Target, BJs, and some even take Walgreens and CVS, etc.)  They also allow overage of any amount and take multiple $5 or $10 off of $25 or $30 coupons in one single transaction.  With their generous coupon policy, there have been many times where I have walked out of Publix with over $200 worth of groceries and not paid a single dime!  But, all that may change.

Keep your ears and eyes open for your local Publix to post their new coupon policy.  Here are some changes that are buzzing around.....

1.  Only competitor coupons for stores that are within 5 miles
2.  They may stop accepting Target coupons....AHHHHH!!!
3.  Maybe limit the BOGO deals to 5 per person (trying to limit the stockpiling)
4.  Not accepting CVS and Walgreens (my store never did this anyway)
5.  NO MORE OVERAGE!!  I'd like to see how they catch this.

Remember, this is just the buzz, continue to check with your local Publix for the real coupon policy, which should be out within the next couple of weeks.

No New Publix Weekly Ad

This week's Publix ad will RUN UNTIL SAT. 4/23/2011.  So, don't look for a new sales ad this Thursday.  Publix is closed this Sunday for Easter, so a new ad will start next Monday.  But, don't fret if you have a lot of those $5/30 coupons from yesterday's paper.  Remember that Sweetbay takes competitor coupons.  There sales ad starts Wednesday 4/20.  So, you can use that Publix $5/30 at Sweetbay if they have any deals that your family needs.

Drum Roll Please.....................

Couponers, I've gone high tech!  Ever need to run out quickly to pick up something and don't have a lot of time to search through all your coupons or not sure if there is a coupon for the item at all?  Well, no worries....just scroll to the bottom of my blog and type the item you need and instantly, you'll be able to see if the coupon is available and where to find it!

Coupon Buddies

Okay, I mentioned that it's important to get a coupon buddy if you're serious about couponing.  Well, try to find someone who doesn't live close to you.  This will ensure that you're able to check stores in various areas for coupon books.  But, keep in mind, the rule of thumb is to never steal someone else's coupon buddy.  I'm not going to say any names, but I know someone who tried to steal mine!  But, I'll share my buddy.  Just in case you're not sure who my buddy is, it's Priscilla!!  So, anyone named Priscilla, don't become her buddy :-)

Also, keep in mind, that when you're getting coupon books for you and your buddy that you shouldn't take too many books.  That's why you need only one buddy so you don't feel obligated to get books for everyone who coupons in your circle.  I like to get at least 4-6 books for me and my buddy.  But, that's only if there are tons of books available. Ponder this and enjoy happy couponing!

Take Cheap Showers!!

Nivea Sensitive Body Wash for Men - 16.9 oz
Nivea bodywash will be supa cheap tomorrow!  There will be a $3/1 on Nivea bodywash coupon in tomorrow's paper.  Usually, they are under $4.  I plan on stocking up.

Birds Eye Vegetables

This week Pubilx has Birds Eye Vegetables for 50% off.  Usually, that means around 1.00 or so per bag.  But, if you grabbed the "Spring Family Gatherings" coupon book that I mentioned, there is a store coupon for $1/2 inside that you can stack with the $1/3 (found in SS 3/20) and really see the savings.  If you buy 6 bags, they should be around .33 cent per bag!!!!  This is my stock up price.  I only have 3 books, so I'll only be stocking up with only 6.  But, I'm still thankful!

Where to find coupons??

Top 5 places to find coupons....

1.  Newspapers (Sunday's Tampa Tribune & St. Pete Times)
2.  Magazines
3.  Store produced coupon books (found in the stores)
4.  Mailers (sent to your home)
5.  Printables (those that you can print from online, if you're serious about couponing, BUY A PRINTER!)

Say Cheese!!

If you're a cheese eater, this week, Publix has Kraft cheese on sale for 3/$5.  That makes each package of shredded cheese $1.66.  Well, there are blinkies right next to the cheese display that has $1/1 package of shredded cheese with a touch of Philly cream cheese.  That coupon will make each pack. .66 each!!   This is my stock up price on cheese!!

If you don't have the $1/1 coupon, click on the following link and print out the $1/2, which will still make them a good deal...$1.06 per pack!

New Publix Coupon books!

Okay Couponers, next time you are in Publix, have your eyes open wide for some new coupon books!  Remember when you have a store coupon, you can use that coupon with a manufacture coupon.  It's called?  STACKING!!  Now, don't get too greedy.  I think it's best to get up to 6 books, but just make sure the books are in even numbers.  Also, it's best to have a coupon buddy (you can't have mine!)  You can grab books for each other.

Publix Shopping Trip 4/13/11

Okay, I've gotten all my coupons together and am ready to go shopping tomorrow.  I must warn everyone that not every week, will you see HUGE savings!  Some weeks, you'll look in sales ads and notice that there is nothing that your family really needs.  For me, this week is one of those weeks.  Although, I am still going shopping this week, my list and savings is nothing to brag about.  When you are faced with slow shopping weeks, fear not, another big week is just around the corner.

Also, this week's ad had matchups with coupons from this past Sunday's paper (4/10/11).  So, if you got your paper this past Sunday...GOOD FOR YOU!

Last Weeks Shopping Trip

Last week during my Publix shopping trip, I kinda felt like a small celebrity.  After shopping for over  a year at Publix, I received my first applause for my savings.  I've saved even more before at Pubix, but this time, my savings was recognized.  I'd be lying if I said, it didn't make me feel a bit bubbly inside!  I actually did the "coupon dance" for the first time in the store.  You're probably wondering how much I saved....well, my total was $267 and some change and after subtracting my 2-$10 gift cards for use on my next purchase, my out of pocket was $11.01.

Now, you might be thinking, "what on earth did you buy for $267?"  Well, here is a copy of my grocery list for that week.  I always do a spreadsheet (got the idea from my coupon buddy Priscilla).  My spreadsheet shows the item to purchase, the quantity, the total, the value of the coupon, and the cost of the items after the coupons.
